Description:
well-demarcated partly translucent tumor with central crust. There are
small blood vessels on the surface.
Differential diagnosis:
* basal cell carcinoma: the
translucent material and the small blood vessels are characteristic of
the diagnosis.
* keratoacanthoma: because of
the central crust this may be added to the differential diagnosis. The
slow growth and the translucent aspect of the tumor in the picture
pleads against the diagnosis keratoacanthoma.
Diagnosis: nodular basal
cell carcinoma (also: rodent ulcer)
